When the AC is turned on, the clutch magnetically couples the serpentine pulley to the compressor shaft; a built‑in diode suppresses voltage spikes that could damage the electrical system. It is a direct replacement for T/CCI (York‑style) compressors using a Blissfield/Tecumseh/CCI coil and a 6‑groove Poly‑V pulley. You replace this clutch when the compressor fails to engage, makes grinding noises, or the pulley bearing wears out.
