ACCUMULATOR (74R5097)

This is an A/C accumulator (also called a receiver-drier) for heavy-duty truck air conditioning systems. It stores liquid refrigerant, filters out moisture and debris, and makes sure only refrigerant vapor reaches the compressor to prevent damage. It is designed for IHC/Navistar truck applications and uses pad-mount inlet and outlet connections with a threaded port for a pressure switch. You would replace this accumulator whenever the A/C system is opened for major service or if the internal desiccant is saturated.
