It engages and disengages the compressor pulley when the air conditioning is switched on or off. The clutch is commonly replaced when the A/C stops cooling due to a seized bearing, a burned-out coil, or slippage. This Red Dot unit is a 12V, 2-groove clutch with a 5.25-inch pulley, double wire coil, and Metripak plug.
