It monitors refrigerant pressure on the low side and opens the circuit to disengage the compressor clutch if pressure falls below the set point, preventing compressor damage. The switch threads directly onto an M10 female Schrader valve and connects with a Metri-Pack 280 plug. It is a common service replacement for Volvo, Mack, and other truck A/C applications.
