This is a bronze bushing used in heavy-duty truck and trailer S-cam brake assemblies. It supports the brake camshaft and allows smooth rotation, reducing friction and wear. Over time, the bushing can wear out, causing excessive camshaft play and reduced braking performance. Replacement is typically done during brake overhauls or when brake slack adjuster stroke becomes excessive.
