A clevis is the yoke-style connector that links the brake chamber pushrod to the slack adjuster, turning the chamber's linear push into rotational force to apply the brakes. The 'extended collar' design helps keep the clevis properly aligned. These wear over time and should be replaced when pins or threads show slop to maintain safe brake adjustment and even lining wear.
