Normally open, it closes when refrigerant pressure rises to 270 PSI to override the fan to high speed, helping to shed heat under heavy load, and opens again at 200 PSI to return to normal operation. It's a direct replacement for Red Dot 71R6160 and is found on many over-the-road truck HVAC systems as well as JCB construction equipment.
