This is a brake shoe kit for Eaton 16-1/2 inch by 7 inch extended service (ES II) S-cam air brakes, commonly found on heavy-duty truck and trailer axles rated up to 23,000 lbs. It includes two brake shoes with premium friction linings and a hardware kit containing rollers, roller retainers, and return springs. The ES II design features longer lining life compared to standard brake shoes and uses hold-down springs that attach to the shoe web. You replace these shoes when the lining wears below the minimum thickness, or when cracking, glazing, or oil contamination occurs.
