It controls reservoir charging and automatically applies the spring brakes if the trailer’s emergency supply line loses pressure. This valve is replaced when a trailer has parking brake hold issues, emergency brake failure, or persistent air leaks in the valve body. It meets FMVSS-121 spring brake control standards that were in effect prior to October 8, 1992.
