It uses a spin-on PuraGuard oil‑coalescing cartridge to strip moisture, oil mists, and solid contaminants from compressed air before they reach brake valves and chambers. A built‑in 12‑volt/75‑watt heater prevents freeze‑ups in cold weather, and the integrated non‑adjustable governor automatically maintains system pressure by cutting in at 105 PSI and cutting out at 130 PSI. You replace this unit or its cartridge when the desiccant becomes saturated, you find excess water in the air tanks, or the system no longer holds proper pressure.
