It combines multiple air brake control functions—pressure protection, check, relay, quick release, and anti-compounding—into a single unit for trailers with spring brake systems. The valve ensures service brake priority, prevents compounding of spring and service brakes, and is FMVSS-121 compliant. It is typically replaced when the original valve fails, causing air leaks, erratic brake application, or failure to release parking brakes.
