It speeds up brake release by quickly exhausting air from the service brake chambers when the driver lets off the foot valve. The valve has a 0 psi crack pressure (no hold-back) and 3/8-inch NPT female ports. It is a universal replacement part commonly used on heavy-duty trucks and trailers; replace it when you experience slow brake release, dragging brakes, or air leaks from the exhaust port.
