It is a critical air-brake component on heavy-duty tractors, controlling the supply and service air sent to the trailer. In the event of a trailer breakaway, the valve automatically shuts off the trailer air to preserve the tractor's braking ability. It also includes a quick-release feature for faster trailer service brake release and a dust shield on the exhaust port to keep out contaminants.
