It connects the brake chamber push rod (5/8‑18 thread) to the slack adjuster via a straight threaded clevis and a 1/2‑inch clevis pin. Over time the clevis and pins wear or corrode, causing brake maladjustment; replacing the kit restores proper slack adjuster function and safe brake balance. The kit contains one clevis, two pins, and two cotter pins, enough to service one slack adjuster.
