It locks into any position along the track once tension is applied to the webbing, allowing you to secure heavy loads with 4-inch straps. The winch is built from high-strength steel with a corrosion-resistant powder coat finish. Replace it if the pawl mechanism slips, the mandrel becomes damaged, or the finish corrodes to the point of failure, as a worn winch can no longer hold cargo safely.
