It senses air pressure in the suspension system and automatically lowers the lift axle when the vehicle is loaded and raises it when the load is removed, eliminating the need for manual switches. Replacement is typically needed if the valve fails to raise or lower the axle properly, causing uneven tire wear, suspension imbalance, or ride-height issues. The valve is pre‑set at the factory to raise the axle at 20 PSI and lower it at 62 PSI, and must be mounted with its ports facing the ground.
