When no power is applied, air flows from the inlet to the outlet; energizing the solenoid closes that path and vents downstream pressure through the exhaust port. It is designed to supply pilot pressure to dump valves, pilot valves, or other pneumatic accessories, and is rated for intermittent duty only—it is not intended to function as a primary dump valve.
