It simultaneously controls two air systems: locking the trailer spring brakes while opening the air-operated vapor recovery valve, which prevents loading or unloading without brake engagement. The valve can be set up in normally open or normally closed configurations and is used to interlock the brake and vapor systems. It features an adjustable button stem, 1/4 inch NPT ports, and standard TTMA and API mounting holes. While the body is typically heat-treated, anodized aluminum, some sources list a brass construction. Replacement is required when the valve develops leaks, fails to seal, or the interlock function becomes unreliable.
