It measures exhaust backpressure before and after the DPF, allowing the engine control module to monitor soot load and manage regeneration. The sensor includes two 1/2-inch outer diameter tubes for pressure line connections. It is replaced when the sensor fails, often indicated by DPF-related fault codes, poor regeneration, or reduced engine performance.
