This is a coolant level sensor, also sold under the OEM number Q21-6030-004, that monitors the fluid level in the surge tank or radiator. It screws into a threaded boss and uses an internal float to detect when coolant drops too low, triggering a dash warning light. The sensor is commonly replaced when the old one fails, causing a false low-coolant alarm or failing to alert you to actual low coolant. Made by PAI Industries, it serves as a direct plug-and-play replacement for several Peterbilt and Kenworth models.
