The cap attaches to the top of the ROMLink probe assembly to complete the optic sensor used for overfill prevention on crude oil tank trailers. It is part of the 'Plug-N-Load' quick-connect system and only works specifically with CivaStar ROMLink probe assemblies (probe sold separately). You would replace this cap if the sensor cap is damaged, missing, or malfunctioning.
