This is a heavy-duty oil bath wheel seal used on commercial truck and trailer axles that run oil instead of grease to lubricate the wheel bearings.

It presses into the hub bore and creates a tight seal around the axle spindle, keeping oil in and dirt, water, and debris out. Like all wheel seals, it should be replaced whenever the wheel end is opened for brake or bearing work, or at the first sign of an oil leak. The design uses a wide sealing lip to tolerate normal wheel-end movement and can be installed with standard seal drivers.
