It measures 16.5 inches in diameter and 7 inches wide, with an outboard mount design and 10 bolt holes on an 11.25-inch bolt circle. The drum provides the friction surface for the brake shoes to press against, slowing the vehicle. It is typically replaced when the braking surface wears beyond the maximum diameter of 16.62 inches, or when cracks, heat checking, or excessive runout develop. This drum is rated for up to 26,000 lbs GAWR and is known for consistent casting quality and balance.
