CRANK SENSOR CAT

This is a camshaft position sensor (often referenced as a crank sensor) for Caterpillar diesel engines. It detects the rotational position and speed of the camshaft, sending a signal to the engine control module so it can precisely time fuel injection and ignition. A failing sensor may cause hard starting, rough idle, stalling, or loss of power. Replacement is needed when diagnostic trouble codes point to camshaft or crank position circuit faults, or if the sensor is physically damaged.
