The Bendix QR-1C is a dual-function air brake valve that serves as both a quick release valve and an anti-compounding double check valve. It mounts near the axle and controls the emergency (spring brake) side of spring brake actuators, speeding up the release of air when the parking brake is released and preventing simultaneous service and emergency brake applications. You replace this valve when it leaks, sticks, or fails to release properly, causing dragging brakes or slow parking brake release.
Specifically replaces Freightliner A12-14980-000 valve. Also compatible with many other makes using a QR-1C style valve with 3/8" NPT delivery ports and anti-compounding function.
