It combines a level sensor, temperature sensor, and pickup tube in one assembly that mounts at the top of the 9-gallon DEF tank. The sensor measures the amount of DEF fluid remaining and sends a signal to the engine control module to ensure proper dosing into the SCR emissions system. Replace it when the DEF gauge reads incorrectly, the in-tank heater fails, or the unit develops a leak.
