It fits onto a 2.25-inch diameter spindle and presses into a hub bore of approximately 3.371 inches, with a thickness of 0.375 inches. The seal retains oil or grease inside the hub while keeping dirt and water out, and it is commonly replaced whenever hubs are serviced or bearings are repacked. Typical application is on 5,200 lb to 7,000 lb trailer axles running oil bath or grease lubrication.
