It slides over a 2.25-inch diameter spindle and has a outer diameter of 3.376 inches, typically used on #42 spindles. A tension spring behind the lips holds grease inside the hub and blocks water and road grime. The seal should be replaced whenever you repack or replace wheel bearings, or if you see grease leaking from the hub.
