A Reyco hanger wear pad is a steel plate that is welded inside the suspension hanger bracket.

It provides a sacrificial surface for the leaf spring end to rest and rub against, protecting the hanger from wear-through. Over time, the pad can thin out, crack, or wear down, and should be replaced if the hanger shows excessive wear. Replacement involves welding a new pad into the hanger.
