It accepts three 1/4-inch outside diameter nylon air lines and joins them without wrenches—just push the tube in and the internal collet grips it tight. You typically replace this fitting when a brass body cracks, a collet loses its bite and leaks, or you're reworking a section of air plumbing. It's suited for vacuum to 150-psi (some sources rate to 250 psi) and -40°F to +200°F service, meeting FMVSS 571.106 and SAE J1131 performance requirements. Not for fuel, water, or oil.
