DISC BRAKE CHAMBER

The 1824D is a Type 18/24 air disc spring brake chamber. It combines a service brake chamber (size 18) and a spring brake chamber (size 24) into one unit, using compressed air to apply the foundation disc brakes and a powerful spring to engage the parking/emergency brake. With a 2.5-inch stroke, it is designed for heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and buses equipped with air disc brake systems. This chamber is replaced when the internal diaphragm fails, the spring brake section loses holding force, or the pushrod becomes damaged.
