It pairs with Automann cone 182.567 (equivalent to Timken 563) to form a complete wheel bearing set that supports radial and axial loads on the hub. The race is pressed into the hub and provides a precision surface for the cone rollers to ride on. It is replaced when a wheel bearing fails, typically due to wear, contamination, or lack of lubrication, to restore safe and smooth wheel rotation.
