This is a heavy-duty brake drum with a 16.5-inch diameter and 7-inch width, designed for use on semi-truck and trailer axles. The drum rotates with the wheel and provides the friction surface for the brake shoes to press against during braking. It is replaced when the braking surface wears beyond its service limit, cracks, scores, or goes out-of-round.
