It isolates the primary air reservoir from auxiliary circuits, closing at 60 psi to preserve braking air if pressure in a connected line drops. When supply pressure recovers to about 70 psi, the valve reopens. This valve ensures that a failure in one accessory circuit does not drain the entire air system, helping maintain braking capability.
