It mounts between the brake chamber pushrod and the S-cam shaft, automatically adjusting brake clearance as linings wear to maintain safe, consistent stopping power. When an automatic slack adjuster fails to maintain adjustment, seizes, or becomes damaged, it must be replaced to restore proper brake function. This part serves as a direct aftermarket replacement for Bendix, Dayton, Sirco, and other models with the same spline and arm length.
