The body is made of lightweight yet tough nylon composite with an embedded aluminum load ring for impact resistance and even bolt clamping. An umbrella-style vent relieves internal pressure as low as 2 psi without letting contaminants in, and the cap comes with a gasket and zinc-plated bolts. Typically replaced when the cap is cracked, missing, or no longer sealing, to protect wheel bearings from failure.
