It measures the pressure difference across the DPF to help the engine computer manage regeneration cycles. A failing sensor can cause check engine lights, poor fuel economy, or incomplete DPF regeneration, so it is replaced when diagnostic trouble codes indicate a sensor fault. The sensor includes two 3/8-inch outer diameter tubes and a 4-pin rectangular connector.
