It replaces a multi-leaf pack with one tapered composite leaf, helping to cut weight, soften the ride, and resist corrosion and sag that can plague steel springs. These springs are often used on steer axles to reduce unsprung mass and improve driver comfort. Replacement is generally prompted by visible damage, delamination, or a noticeable loss of ride height from fatigue or impact.
