It uses a pair of 0.187-inch wire diameter springs, each 31 inches long, mounted on a 93-inch shaft to counterbalance the weight of an overhead door, making it easy to lift and hold open. The assembly is factory-painted orange for dry freight (Tempguard) applications. You replace it when the springs fatigue, break, or the door becomes hard to open or won’t stay up.
