It connects the tanker's vapor space to a 4-inch vapor recovery hose at the loading rack, with a 3-inch female NPT threaded inlet that screws onto the tank's vapor pipe. A spring-loaded poppet inside the valve automatically seals when disconnected, preventing vapor loss and meeting environmental regulations. This valve is replaced when seals wear out or the aluminum body is damaged, common in frequent loading/unloading operations.
