It uses a single long-life incandescent bulb and mounts with a rubber grommet via a PL-10 connector. The polycarbonate lens and housing are sonically sealed to keep out moisture and dirt, and the reflectorized lens stays visible even when the bulb is off. It is a direct replacement for dim or broken side marker and clearance lamps on trucks and trailers, meeting FMVSS 108 requirements. Because it is sealed, you replace the entire unit when the bulb fails or the lens cracks.
