This is a left-hand (driver side) top plate for the Fontaine No-Slack II 6000 series fifth wheel.

It replaces a worn or damaged top plate on a Fontaine 6000 fifth wheel and provides the locking surface and jaw mechanism that secures the trailer kingpin. The manual release handle is on the left side, so it's made for the driver side of the tractor. The locking mechanism is self-adjusting with a built-in secondary lock and a locking trigger to help prevent high-hitching. It is rated for standard to moderate on-highway use.
