It is made from soft 1100-F aluminum alloy, which is ductile and easy to work with. Buck rivets are used to create a permanent, high-strength mechanical joint, typically in heavy-duty trailer and truck body assembly, by deforming the tail with a bucking bar and rivet gun. They are commonly replaced when worn or damaged, or during structural repairs to panels, posts, and frames on utility and semi-trailers.
