It is used to permanently join aluminum sheets in truck trailer bodies, roofs, and other sheet metal assemblies. The soft alloy makes it easy to buck (hammer) over by hand to form a shop head. These rivets are replaced when original fasteners loosen, crack, or during panel repair work.
