It uses six LEDs and a built-in reflective lens to make the trailer visible from the side and front without needing a separate reflector. You typically replace these when the lens cracks, moisture gets inside causing LED failure, or the stud mount base corrodes and breaks. It's a 12V hard-wired unit with a black wire for power and a white wire for ground.
