It is a 4-way, double-spade solenoid valve that directs hydraulic fluid to control the raising and lowering of the liftgate platform. The assembly includes both the valve cartridge (290047) and the solenoid coil (290048), which are replaced as a set when the liftgate becomes slow, erratic, or fails to move. It is a direct replacement for Maxon's OEM valve assembly and fits a wide range of their column and tuck-away liftgate models.
