The leg uses a 10x10x4.5-inch sand shoe and achieves 17 inches of travel, with a 55,000-pound lifting capacity and a 170,000-pound static load rating. It is typically replaced when the leg is bent, the shoe is damaged, or the internal gear mechanism becomes worn or seized from prolonged use and exposure to the elements.
