5TH WHEEL LUBE DISC RETAINING RING

This is a steel retaining ring that holds a fifth wheel lube disc (slick disc) securely onto the truck's fifth wheel plate. Lube discs eliminate the need for traditional grease by providing a dry, low-friction surface between the trailer kingpin plate and the fifth wheel. The retaining ring snaps over the disc’s central hub to keep it from shifting or falling off during coupling and road use. It should be replaced if it becomes bent, corroded, or loses tension, usually at the same time as a worn lube disc.
