It mounts on the left-hand side (typically the side opposite the crank handle) and extends 17 inches to support the trailer when parked. The non-gear leg works in tandem with the geared leg to raise and lower the trailer's front end. Replace this leg if it is bent, seized, or if the inner tube no longer locks securely, which can lead to trailer instability.
