It resets the timer of automatic dome lights that are activated by an outside-the-trailer switch (like Grote's 44360 or 44190). The white ABS switch mounts flush into the trailer wall to avoid damage from bumps or cargo. Pressing it provides a momentary ground signal to restart the dome light timer, so you don't have to leave the trailer to reset the lights manually.
